PlumWoke# Digital Archive

The events documented in this exhibition did not happen in the absence of evidence. They left a paper trail: land acts, treaty articles, military dispatches, diplomatic letters, and memoir accounts — the accumulated documentary record of a decade in which one society systematically dismantled the territorial sovereignty of another.

This archive assembles that record. Every document here was produced by the people who participated in these events — Comanche chiefs, Republic presidents, frontier soldiers, colonization commissioners, and settler memoirists. Read together, they constitute not just evidence of what happened, but evidence of how
the structure worked.
